'Baywindow 1970.

This is a 1970 bay window bus LHD. We bought this bus for ourselves but have had a change of plan. The bus therefore has had a lot of money invested in new parts. The brakes are all repaired with new parts, cylinders, pads, adjustment stars, etc. The motor is a reconditioned 1600 single port unit which cost us 800 pounds. The clutch and pressure plate have been reconditioned as has the flywheel. The van passed the MOT on all mechanical parts. To finish the motor I suggest you buy the right carb as the one on it is a 1500 carb, you also would need the right exhaust as it has a beetle exhaust fitted. It is drivable. You could come for a holiday and drive it home for example.

In terms of bodywork the van has great floors front and back, good arches, good rear corners etc. It is let down by the following rust. Inner sills both sides. Front valence inner and outer. A small patchable hole on the front centre chassis section. It also has a hairline crack in the roof of about 5cm where the rear door hinges have stressed the metal. No metal needs to be added but this 5cm hairline crack needs to be welded up. It happened as the rear hinge was missing bolts. We have replaced them! Otherwise it is ok with no rot. The paint needs to be improved and the underpant colour is a like it or not kind of thing. It was white.

Our aim is just to get our money back. It owes us 3000 GBP. It can be shipped to southampton for an extra 500 GBP or you can come on holiday and drive it home.
